NL Asia, with her extended cell guides

Asia Class Overview

Five container ships of this hatchless design with a state of the art, sophisticated alarm and monitoring system were delivered by Japanese yards in 1991 and 1992. They can carry up to 3600 TEU propelled by a huge economical 8 cylinder two stroke engine.

The vessels have a distinctive silhouette with a fully enclosed bridge and two funnel layout. RBS took these ships over from P&O Nedlloyd in 2004, in a deal known as the “Clearwater” project.
