The global competition nowadays is not only defined by performance oriented service but also more and more by a most sensitive environmental awareness.
Reederei Blue Star GmbH has always been dedicated to environmental protection and has fixed this mission to its company’s philosophy.
A verification and certification by an independent authority shall now present this engagement to the public. For this reason the existing internal Environmental Management System was reviewed in 2008 and adapted according to the ISO 14001 standard.
The subsequent external verification took place in December 2008 by Germanischer Lloyd (GL) and followed by an accredited ISO 14001 certification which includes not only the office, but as well the entire Reederei Blue Star Fleet of 34 container vessels.
In the meantime the first external annual audit was passed successfully and confirmed the commitment of our sea and shore employees.
With this certified environmental management system and additionally an individually environmental protection program Reederei Blue Star GmbH is able to reduce the environmental impact caused by waste, chemicals and emissions far more than required by existing law.
